Dear Professional Colleagues,

I am privileged to represent you all as the Chairman of the Central India Regional Council. Over the next twelve months I shall strive to serve the interests of the profession, members and the students.

Before I Proceed I would like to welcome the newly elected President CA. Ved Jain and the Vice President CA. Uttam Prakash Agarwal. Both are very talented persons and would definitely guide our noble profession to new heights.

I have a vision of a profession that is vibrant and fully equipped to meet the challenges thrown upon by the latest technological innovations taking place at a very rapid pace. I feel that the thrust areas should not only be the educational activities of the branches, I believe in overall development of the members and the students as good and capable human beings, for which extra curricular activities should also be takenup at the branches.

As a part of the brand building exercise I propose that we should reach out to the masses, involving bureaucrats, Business Community, NGO’s/Societies, politicians and the public at large by spreading awareness about the profession.

I feel that all the branches in the region should undertake student awareness programs and propose that at least two visits a month should be made to the educational institutions situated in the cities covered by the branches to spread awareness amongst the upcoming generation who are to be standard bearers of our noble profession in the years to come.

As we are all aware that draft exposures are circulated for the comments from the members but generally very few people devote their valuable time, I feel that all the branches should invariably give their comments on the exposure drafts. We shall be celebrating our  Golden Jubilee Year from 01st July, 2008 to the 30th June, 2009 and we should ensure that the same is celebrated at each branch of the region with enthusiasm and pride, further I also feel that the branches should help the CIRC in publication of technical publications.

As the AS are proposed to be replaced by the IFRS by 2011 we should prepare ourselves for the new challenges individually and collectively as a profession. Today we are living in a competitive world wherein clear cut goals should be set up to achieve the objectives. In this process, very soon we are coming up “CIRC- Vision Paper-2008” to set these goals.

Members of our profession are joining service in large numbers. This is going to increase the opportunity available to practicing members. Bank Audit is round the corner and we need to be well prepared for it and perform the job diligently, special CPE programs are proposed to be conducted at various branches in the region to update the knowledge of the members in this regard.

In the season of spring let us rediscover ourselves in a manner that is of benefit first to the society at large and then to our profession.

With Warm Regards

Yours sincerely,

CA Sudhir Bhansali

Chairman ,CIRC
